Dr. Jerry Agrusa, professor of travel industry
management at Hawai‘i Pacific University, has been chosen
as the keynote speaker for the 2009 15th annual Asia Pacific
Tourism Association Conference. The conference will focus on
a broad range of topics related to research in tourism and
hospitality.
Agrusa was selected as the keynote speaker of the event because
of his well-known extensive research in tourism. He will travel
to Incheon, Korea July 9-12 to deliver his speech, “What
Does Paradise Do When Recession Hits? A View From Hawai‘i.”
“
I am very excited about this opportunity,” Agrusa said. “Since
coming back to HPU in 2001, I have really emphasized that we
at HPU do excellent research, and I have worked very hard at
putting the TIM program and the College of Business on the map
when it comes to research.”
Tourism researchers, industry experts, academic administrators,
postgraduate students, and publishers in the Asia Pacific region
will gather at the conference for the opportunity to present
and discuss research outcomes, and to exchange research ideas
and network for future collaboration.
