The Hawaiian Humane Society (HHS) offers pet adoption, with volunteer programs, pet advice, and their own dog park. The HHS was founded in 1897 in order to protect the wellbeing of work animals, such as horses; today the HHS offers the same aid but for pet cats and dogs. The HHS continues to educate the community on humane animal care.
