“I will not withdraw, even if Laura and Barney are the only ones supporting me.” —President Bush, explaining to key Republicans that he will not withdraw from Iraq under any circumstances. Quoted by Bob Woodward. Laura is Bush’s wife and Barney is his dog.

“You know, one of the hardest parts of my job is to connect Iraq to the war on terror.” —President George W. Bush, in an interview with CBS News Anchor Katie Couric.

“It’s bad in Iraq. Does that help?” —George W. Bush, after being asked by a reporter whether he’s in denial about Iraq.

“We’ve never been ‘stay the course,’ George.” – ABC’s George Stephanopoulos interviewing President George W. Bush, who attempting to distance himself from what has been his core strategy in Iraq for the last three years.
