Associated Students of HPU (ASHPU) held
its seventh annual Monster’s Ball on Oct. 25 at
Planet Hollywood in Waikiki. 400 presale tickets were
sold before doors opened and about another 30 students
waited outside for an opportunity to get in. Montanee
Pornmukda, sophomore representative, planned the event

New
student IDs: What students need to know
HPU has adopted a new student ID system
that provides greater security protection and will allow
students to use their ID as reloadable gift cards at
downtown vendors. As early as this spring or next summer,
the new ID system will allow students to put money on
their IDs and use them like debit cards at restaurants
and approved stores in downtown as well as at the Hawai‘i
Loa cafeteria and laundry room. [More]

RAVE
alert sweeps over campus
In an effort to better protect the students
of HPU, the school put the RAVE alert system into effect
last fall. The RAVE alert system sends a mass text message
to all those registered in the case of an emergency.
This system can alert students, faculty, and staff of
tsunamis, hurricanes, acts of violence, fire, power outages,
closed campuses, and any other unexpected circumstances.[More]
