‘Country Crock’d Mondays’ a Kailua hit

Sounds of rhythmic guitar, smooth harmonica, bass, drums, and a country singer in a cowboy hat echo in Kailua outside of Boardriders Bar and Grill on Hamakua Drive every Monday night at 8 p.m. Anthony Ryan and the Ridgecrest Wranglers woo the crowd with sultry country cover songs as well as a few of their own creations. O‘ahu’s Koko Head Botanical Garden

Nestled in the middle of a 60-acre basin inside east O‘ahu’s Koko Crater, the city’s Koko Crater Botanical Garden opened to the public a few years ago but maintains a sense of mystery due to its location in an extinct volcano. Surrounded by dry brush, the entrance lacks the grandeur of Honolulu’s other botanical gardens, but the garden’s intriguing demonstration of drought-tolerant landscaping does not disappoint.[More]
