Robert E. Black Awards For Excellence
“among the finest individuals at HPU”--Pence Smith

The Robert E. Black Awards for Excellence is presented annually to an undergraduate student and a graduate student who have demonstrated excellence in service both to the University and to the community at large. This year HPU interviewed six undergraduates and five graduate students, out of more than 50 submissions, according to one of the canidates who did not make the interviews.
“ These students underwent a rigorous selection process,” said Honors Chair, Dr. Penny Pence Smith, “including a face-to-face session with a panel of stone-faced judges who asked tough questions.”[More]
