Act One--student production returns
by Alicia Michioka, Student Life editor

Act One, a night of one-act plays, produced and directed by HPU students, returns for its fourth semester. Since the first production in spring 1999, many students enjoyed these performances of one-act comedies and dramas.

Last semester, Evelyn Eaton not only produced and directed two one act plays but also wrote a one-act drama. She has had the longest relationship with Act One, acting in the first and directing in the third. She will be coming back with four other theater veterans.

Ryan Lympus, who is also performing in Kiss Me Kate, will be directing a one act, as will Alicia Michioka, who directed in spring 2000 and acted in fall 1999.

Two new student directors are Tobias Brosjo and Andrew Geske.

Act One directors are looking for interested students who would like to be part of HPU’s theater. No experience is required.

Production dates will be Nov. 19, 20, 26 and 27. Show times will be at 7:30 p.m. in the windward campus Peforming Arts Lab.

Auditions will be, Oct. 7, 5-8 p.m., in the PAL at the windward campus, and Oct. 8 at 5-8 p.m. on the downtown campus in Warmer Auditorium.
