New Student orientation
Ho’olokahi: Coming together in Unity. This is the theme of
this fall year’s HPU New student orientation. Start your University
experience at HPU’s windward campus, then join us for activities
and a luau at Kualoa Ranch.
HPU Aloha Week is five days of activitiesfor new students
including house-hunting, campus tours, and this year’s main
event: A Day at the Kualoa Ranch give students the opportunity
to learn more about HPU and meet some of new and interesting
people.
“Orientation highly recommended for all incoming students;
it offers you a great chance to meet other students; from
allover the world, learn more about other cultures, HPU and
its services, student support, academic requirements and the
most important: meet lots of new friends, “said Taylor Boyd,
Director of student Life and organizer of HPU Aloha Week.
Students start the day with a continental breakfast at the
windward campus. After a speech of one of the Nation’s Top
Collegiate Public Speakers Joe Martin, students will enjoy
a Hawaiian-style lunch with faculty and returning students
in their major before departing for Kualoa Ranch.
Group activities at Kualoa Ranch include: outrigger canoe
races, tug o’war, volleyball, kayaking, and badminton and
“a trip to Secret Island.” The day climaxes with a Luau and
Polynesian performances under the Hawaiian night sky. Orientation
