HPU musically No. 1 at Kailua Parade

HPU took a number of awards at this year’s Kailua 4th of July parade – called the best ever by parade organizers. The University won First Place honors in two categories: Best Live Music Unit and Best School Band. HPU also won Third Place for Best Overall.

Wireless connections at HPU

HPU is going wireless this fall. With the growing use of wireless communication and the technology provided by CISCO Systems, HPU students will be able to take advantage of this mobile state-of-the-art technology to break away from the traditional “wired” stations.

ACE changes name, but stays the same

“For years the Adult Continuing Education Office at Hawaii Pacific University has been known as the ACE Office. It has been a good name and we will always consider our adult student aces! But our full name is quite a mouthful, and does not exactly reflect what we do at this office,” explains Caroline Garrett, Associate Dean and Director of the Adult Service Center. “We thought it was time to find a name that better describes our role at Hawaii Pacific University. We are not actually a program, but an office that provides a range of services to adult students. Therefore, we have re-named ourselves the Adult Service Center or ASC (pronounced ask),” Garrett adds.

For safety - Be proactive

HPU security enlarged its patrolling area after two students fell victim to two unrelated crimes on Fort Street Mall in May. Since one of the incidents took place between campus buildings and Hotel Street, the patrol has been extended to include the Hotel Street bus stop area, according to Chief Security Officer Luaselau Fesili.
