Club Carnival
remembers tragedy
Despite recent somber events, Hawai‘i Pacific
University’s biannual Club Carnival went on without a hitch.
However, this time the carnival lacked its usual festive music,
and the tragedy seemed to be on the minds of many students
and faculty as they perused the offerings of the various university
organizations.

MA Com enrollment
doubled
This fall semester, the number of students enrolled
in the MA Communication Program at HPU has more than doubled,
from 26 students last year to 62.

HPU Comedy Club

“Get your free pizza over here,” exclaimed Paul
Fitzgerald, a member of the new Comedy Club at HPU as he tried
to lure students to the club’s booth at the Fort Street Mall
Club Carnival Sept. 14. The new club is causing quite a stir
at HPU, and many are wondering who is behind the operation.

Computer Club
goes robotic
The Computer Club remained highly active during
the summer with one special interest group building a 1 MHz
CPU and another developing a Robotics demonstration for the
Sign Language Festival at Kapiolani Community College Aug.
