In addition to the great beaches, Honolulu offers a wealth
of diversity to keep your spiritual edge sharp. Surrounding
the downtown and Hawaii Loa campuses are churches
and temples of every faith and denomination. They enthusiastically
open their doors to all HPU students and love having you
be a part of their communities while you are here. Come
by my office anytime (UB 1506, ph. 544-9394), and I will
be happy to connect you with the closest house of worship
of your faith. In addition, there is an active Roman Catholic
Student Association and an HPU Christian Fellowship group
on campus ready to welcome you and help you find a meaningful
place in the HPU community.
Every Wednesday from noon to12:30 there is an informal,
nondenominational chapel service at Warmer Auditorium (in
the Penthouse of the library building at 1060 Bishop St.).
All are invited to share a half hour of song and inspiration
led by student leaders and myself. If you can play the guitar
or other musical instrument, bring it.
New this year as part of Orientation Week will be a non-denominational
worship service at the Hawaii Loa campus on Sept.
1. Come check it out! What a great way to get the semester
off to a good start! Refreshments will be served, and you
can find out more about our local churches.
With the Lords strength any hurdle can be overcome.
Welcome, and have a great year!
