Need 8 hours sleep? Study says, maybe not

Many people believe that they need at least eight hours of sleep every night in order to maintain a healthy mind and body. But new studies challenge that notion.

Because more than 10,000 native plant and animal species are found nowhere else on Earth but on the eight Hawaiian islands, with a combined land area of only 6,500 square miles, Hawai‘i is called the “biological jewel of the United States.”

   

Community support needed to keep free clinics open

 Waikiki Health Center’s Ho‘ola Like Outreach Clinics, in Partnership with the HPU College of Nursing, have been operating three clinics on the windward and north shores of Oahu, in Haleiwa, Punalu‘u, and Kahalu‘u.
