HPU's "Golden Girl"- Kusutani stays the course

At 43 years of age, HPU All-America cross country runner Sayuri Kusutani is a Japanese national whoís a somewhat reluctant champion for those who feel the weight of time progressively growing heavy upon their shoulders.

   

Vera Olivveira tackles English on court...

Knowing little English and taking over for an All-American hasnít slowed down Brazilian-native Vera Oliveira, as she is one of the reasons why the HPU Lady Sea Warriors volleyball team has a 4-2 record in PacWest play.

After winning two gold medals in the 1964 Olympics, swimmer Donna de Varona could not obtain a college swimming scholarship. For women, it didnít exist. Pasty Mink changed that.

   

Sea Warriors work past injuries, looking to success

HPUís men and womenís cross country programs have dominated the islands so far this season. The men have won five of the six regular season events, while the women have taken three of six.

   

HPU downs Chaminade...

The HPU Lady Sea Warriors Volleyball team sliced through Chaminade University in three sets in a PacWest conference game Oct. 8 at the Neil Blaisdell Center.

 
   

HPU dominates own Invitational

Christian Madsen and Sayuri Kusutani picked up their fourth and third individual titles of the year, respectively, as the Sea Warriors men and womenís cross country teams won the HPU Invitational held at the windward campus Oct. 12.
