Japanese Temples

Hawai‘i is often described as the crossroad of East and West. Because of Hawai‘i’s cosmopolitan mix, the forms of Japanese temples have been uniquely affected by other island architectural styles.

Hokule'a to sail again

On Jan. 19, the Polynesian Voyaging Society will host E Ola Hokule‘a – Hokule‘a Lives, a daylong event to celebrate the successful restoration Hawai‘i’s first voyaging canoe, Hokule‘a, at the Marine Education & Training Center on Sand Island.

 

Former ASHPU president recieves two national awards

Selawe Tau, an HPU senior double majoring in computer information systems and travel industry management, won two national awards in his home country of Botswana last June: a Leadership and Personal Development Award and The Minister of Labour and Home Affairs’ Special Award at the Second National Youth Awards Ceremony, held in Gaborone.
