The rallying cry of the Department of Education is to "File
online!" Students are finding that filing FAFSA online is easier
Itís time to start thinking about 2003 Ė 2004 financial aid,
and our most important tip to help you in applying is to get
your 2002 taxes done early this year and file your FAFSA online
before March 1. Hereís how:
Start by going to www.pin.ed.gov to get a PIN number. Then
go to www.fafsa.ed.gov to file the FAFSA.
Carefully review the Student Aid Report and make corrections
if necessary. You can make changes online.
Keep an extra copy of your tax return on hand. You may be
required to submit it to Financial Aid, and if you have a copy
ready you will be ahead of the game!
® Remember that you must be enrolled for at least 6 credits
in order to qualify for financial aid.
® If you change from full-time to less than full-time, your
aid may change.
® Remember: You should never pay anyone to file your financial
aid forms or get financial aid info for you.
Everything is on the Web and it is free! General financial
aid information can be found at www.studentaid.ed.gov. If you
have questions call the Financial Aid Office at 544-0253.
