The event was the latest in HPU’s “An Evening with the Humanities”
lecture series, made possible by a National Endowment for the
Humanities Grant. It was preceded this month by the Jan. 14
lecture by Dr. Jeremy Black of the United Kingdom University
of Exeter. Black, one of England’s most acclaimed historians,
also lectured to a full house as many came to hear him discuss
war, technology, and the rise of the West from 1450 to the present.
Black has authored 49 books ranging from World War II to the
Politics of James Bond.
