T&C Surf teams with Student Life

by Jaclynn Fasken, busness manager

Fort Street Mall was alive with activity on Feb. 20 as Student Life, Xtreme Radio 104.3, and Town & Country Surf teamed up to sponsor a Bungee Run and to preview a car that will be given away during spring break at Pipeline Café.

Bungee run, a TGIF event sponsored by Student Life, tested who can run the farthest on a huge air-filled cushion with an attached bungee cord restraining them.

Tae Yung, a sophomore from Korea studying CSIS, was a fierce competitor and won the event. His competitors were Fred Kalu, Jr. a sophomore from Nigeria studying international relations and KC Bejerana, the program director for Xtreme Radio 104.3.

Morning DJs Hawaiian Ryan and Taniaha were also at the event and had good things to say about HPU. “HPU students are really laid back, down to earth, and very friendly. They are easy to approach,” said Taniaha.

On display on Fort Street during the Bungee Run was a 2003 Toyota Corolla that will be given away at T & C Surf’s Spring Break Party, “Epic Sesh 2” on March 26 at Pipeline Café. T & C and Xtreme Radio will also giveaway surf and skate products and a Bose portable acoustic wave unit.
