There comes a time in the life of most college students when they must face their worst nightmare: repaying their student loans.

   

Rotaract holds success seminar

The Rotaract Club at HPU brought a celebrity to HPU April 9 for a seminar on how to succeed financially. Jennifer Du-Yung won the President’s Recognition Award from American Express Financial Advisors. “It recognizes outstanding performance and commitment to high-quality financial planning,” said the Honolulu Advertiser.

 

Internships: Summer fun, career possibilities

What are you doing this summer? The choices are many: take a trip, go to the beach, relax. One possibility for HPU students is a summer internship through the Career Services Center or a practicum through one of the academic disciplines such as Communication, psychology or social work. or the .

   

University honors students' efforts in scholarship, service

Hawai‘i Pacific University held its 20th annual Honors Banquet 2003 at the Hawai‘i Prince Hotel Waikiki April 6. Faculty, staff, administration, and students gathered to recognize hundreds of students as university scholars, and to recognize and reward outstanding scholarship and service to the University and the community.

   
 
“Think globally, act locally” was exactly how Students in Free Enterprise (SIFE) at Hawai‘i Pacific University performed at the state regional competition April 14 at the Waikiki Beach Marriott Resort. For the third year in a row, the HPU team placed first in the region and will go to the national competition in Kansas City to represent Hawai‘i’s four-year universities.  
   
   

Kuntz and Moon win Robert E. Black Awards

“The finalists are among the finest individuals at Hawai‘i Pacific University,” said Director of Student Life Heather Hubbard at the April 6 Awards Banquet, referring to 12 students who had been nominated for the Robert E. Black Award for Excellence.

   

Club Awards Banquet a success

A good time was had by all April 10 at the ASHPU Club Awards Banquet. The event, held at the Radisson Prince Kuhio Hotel, mixed laughter, some tears, and, thanks to the United Samoan Organization, joyful chant.
