Festival celebrates short films

The ‘Ohina Short Film Showcase was created to support a variety of local independent filmmakers and provide them with an opportunity to exhibit their films to the local community. The Hawaiian word ‘Ohina means “the gathering” or “coming together.” Thus, the name is appropriate to a film venue established to bring together independent filmmakers and provide a testing ground for young filmmakers.

   

Film: Are you The Marrying Type?

Picture this scenario: You are in college, and you are dating someone whom you have known since high school. Eventually things get serious: you fall in love, and you plan a future together. Sooner or later, one of you wants “space.”

Lights, camera, action! Cari Carter (Aguilar), a spring ’03 graduate of HPU, has broken into the short film industry.
   

'Great Balls of Fire': Rock pioneers grace Hawai'i

Rock ‘n’ Roll pioneers Chuck Berry, Jerry Lee Lewis, and Little Richard will be rocking the Neil Blaisdell Arena Oct.25 in the Rock ‘n’ Roll Supershow presented by Tom Moffat Productions.
