HPU runner-former NAIA All-American

Not only is it not his favorite sport, it’s his first year even competing in cross country, but try telling that to the competition. First-year Sea Warrior William Ngetich has dusted opponents this season, carrying HPU to four team victories so far.

Hawai'i, HPU on ESPN anchor's mind

It’s said that success comes at a cost. The cost varies with the individual, but inevitably, sacrifices must be made. For Neil Everett, former HPU Sports Information director and present co-anchor of ESPN-TV’s SportsCenter, success means enduring the brutal cold of the American northeast winters, enduring the sometimes equally brutal people of the area and the national news business, having to wear a coat and tie to work, and wearing stage makeup. And oh yeah—they don’t put gravy on the rice in Bristol, Connecticut.

Athletic scholarships Part 1: the recruiting process

There are about 125 scholarship athletes at HPU, not including club teams. Curious how or why they got here?

Heart, health HPU's postseason hopes

Halloween night turned into a bad dream for the HPU Lady Sea Warriors volleyball team.

HPU limped to Laie, after dropping two consecutive conference matches to University Hawai‘i-Hilo and Chaminade, and fell to Brigham Young-Hawai‘i, 19-30, 20-30, 28-30 in a Pacific West Conference match at Cannon Activities Center.

Commentary: You got to have heart

HPU faces BYU-H in the final two matches of the 2003 regular season, traveling back to Laie for a non-conference match Nov. 7 and hosting the Lady Seasiders Nov. 15 in a conference match at St. Andrew’s Priory. Win both, and the HPU show should go on.
