Chaplain's Corner
with Reverend Dale Burke

Every faith holds high the value of giving thanks. It is expressed in our ceremonies, our celebrations, our worship, and in the holidays we honor.

It is good to regularly pause and give thanks to our Creator. In the midst of today’s delicate world situation there is still much to be thankful for. Blessings are all around for those who have eyes to see. Emerson once said that if the stars came out only one night a year, everyone would be up all night watching them.

We tend to take for granted so many things and experiences in our lives that we miss much of the flavor of life. We worry about the little things rather than being mindful of all that the Lord has given us. If we live a spirit of thanksgiving for all the blessings that are ours, both temporal and eternal, it is reflected in how we treat others and how we deal with our responsibilities. Living in a spirit of thanksgiving dispels sadness, brings renewed joy to each day. Give it a try…you might be surprised. Have a blessed holiday season!
