Teacher nominated
State Bar president
Dr. Melvin Masuda, associate professor of law
at HPU, was nominated recently for the position of President-Elect
for 2004 of the Hawai‘i State Bar Association. Masuda
is the only academic among the three nominees, who include
Hugh Jones, with the state Attorney General’s office,
and Richard Turbin, a private practitioner.

Business
enterprise class reinforces SIFE efforts
There’s a new course at HPU for members
of Students in Free Enterprise (SIFE) and other undergraduate
or graduate student entrepreneurs interested in exploring or
establishing business opportunities. Exploring Enterprises
is a three-credit class listed as MGMT 3802 for undergraduates,
6806 for graduates, is offered Tuesdays and Thursdays 3:40
to 5 p.m.

300 Hawai'i students
'Give Thanks Around World'
Conch shells, African djembe drums, and about
300 students, including members of Circle K at HPU, kicked
off the fourth annual Hawai‘i International Education
Week, which runs Nov. 17-21.

the Association for Education in Journalism and Mass Communication
(AEJMC).
