Jamba Juice celebrates healthy lifestyle

In 1990, a small group of people envisioning a healthy alternative to fast food opened the first Jamba Juice in San Luis Obispo, Calif. Kirk Perron, Linda Ozawa Olds, Joe Vergara, and Kevin Peters put in three years of hard work and community involvement before “Juice Club,” as it was known then, began to grow, with four new stores and 12 franchises by 1995

 

 

Minority employment in newsrooms - Media hiring practices do not reflect population

While minorities make up 30 percent of the total U.S. population (U.S. Census Bureau, 2000), only 11.64 percent make up the minority representation in newsrooms across the U.S., according to a 2001 American Society of Newspaper Editors (ASNE) report .
