Golden Apple nominees due by March 17

by Kalamalama staff

HPU again solicits nominations for the second annual Golden Apple Awards acknowledging the many significant contributions that faculty are making as teachers, scholars, and engaged citizens.

The Teaching and Learning Center (TLC) in cooperation with the Faculty Development Policies and Activities Committee (FDPAC) and the Research Interests and Scholarly Activities (RISA) Committee have posted award categories on the Web site and are soliciting nominations in all categories, according to Valentina M. Abordonado, director of the Teaching and Learning Center

“ The FDPAC and the RISA committees will review award nominations and select a recipient in each category,” said Abordonado. “These awards will be announced at the semiannual meeting of the Faculty Assembly on April 23.”

The deadline for award nominations is noon, March 17. “This deadline will allow enough time for the two committees to convene a meeting to select an award recipient and for the TLC to order the golden apple award trophies,” explained Abordonado.

The TLC Web site that contains the full listing of categories and their descriptions is:

Nominations may be submitted in person to the TLC staff, by e-mail to Ms. Gayle Sollfrank at gsollfrank@hpu.edu, by campus mail to Ms. Gayle Sollfrank, TLC at MP201A, or by regular mail to the Teaching and Learning Center, 1188 Fort Street Mall, Suite 201A, Honolulu, HI 96813.
