HPU took two national titles and
national runner-up honor at the National Cheerleaders Association
(NCA) Chick-fil-A Collegiate Championships in Daytona Beach,
Fla., April 1.
The HPU teams made history twice, first when the Co-ed Cheerleaders
captured the national title for the second year in a row and
again when the Dance Team became the first Hawai‘i dance
team to ever capture a national collegiate title at the NCA
event. |

Also performing well was the HPU All-Girl Cheerleading Team
that, competing for the first time, placed second in the nation
in their category. The All-Girl Cheerleading Team is the only
All-Girl college cheer team in Hawai‘i.
The Chick-fil-A Cheer and Dance Collegiate Championship is
the largest event of its kind in the world. With teams from
across the United States, Mexico, Japan, and Canada, it is
the most widely viewed college cheer and dance event in the
history of the collegiate spirit competitions. |
