The HPU SIFE Team advanced to the
SIFE USA Nationals by winning at the regional level on March
29 at the Marriott Hotel, Waikiki. Other four-year college
teams that competed included: University of Hawai‘i-Hilo,
Chaminade University, and Brigham Young University-Hawai‘i.
This is the fourth time HPU has advanced to the National
Exposition. The team’s advisors included: Dr. Susan Fox-Wolfgramm,
Mr. Ken Schoolland, Ms. Fran Lowell, and Ms. Carol Roberts.
At regional competition, the team was judged best in teaching
people of all ages the principles of free enterprise. The HPU
SIFE Team not only taught free enterprise, but team members
made a difference in the Honolulu and international communities
by
developing projects to meet specific needs of community members.
It is estimated that the team will reach nearly 1.4 million
through its various projects.
