The Passion prompts
discussion
Since its release, Mel Gibson’s film, The
Passion of the Christ, has fueled discussion in many circles—religion,
media, and education, to name a few. HPU enlarged the classroom
dialog between professors and students via a “teach-in” on “The
Passion of the Christ: Faith or Dogma?”

Aloha
from the President
I am pleased to share news about the forthcoming
national reaccreditation of our Bachelor of Science in Nursing
(BSN) and Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) Programs. Both
programs are at present fully accredited by the National
League for Nursing Accreditation Commission (NLNAC). Planning
for continued accreditation is an ongoing process. Each nursing
program must be visited and evaluated at specified intervals
to ensure continuing compliance with accreditation standards
and criteria. The University’s School of Nursing expects
to host an NLNAC visit this fall semester.

Chaplain's
Corner
Successful university students are those who
typically demonstrate the capacity to balance their lives.
Too much time devoted to one area of life at the expense of
other areas can build up stress and throw us off kilter. Four
important aspects of self that need lots of TLC (tender loving
care) are our mental, emotional, physical and spiritual well
being. How are you doing in these areas?
