FBI recruiter visits HPU

by Karen Kimura, special to Kalamalama

On March 19 Special Agent Kal Wong presented an exciting overview of FBI job offerings to the Accounting Club at HPU. His presentation included video tapes of FBI Headquarters in Washington, D. C., training sites, and interviews of field agents.

Wong discussed different jobs available as well as the generous benefits the bureau provides agents and the requirements to qualify for training.

Candidates must be U.S. citizens, 23-36 years of age, able to pass drug and vision tests. They must have a bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution and two to three years professional/investigative/managerial experience.

The bureau gives special priority to applicants who speak foreign languages fluently or who are CPAs, engineers, attorneys, or majors in computer science, science, math, nursing, finance, law, intelligence, counterintelligence, and counterterrorism.

In the past, there were fewer entry-level position available, so Wong invited everyone present to submit an application to the bureau. For more information visit: AccoutPresHpu@yahoo.com.
