Chaplain's Corner
with Reverend Dale Burke

The semester is almost behind us, the finish line is near! For me, semesters go by faster every year; for you, the long hours spent on research projects and term papers are ending. With successful completion of finals, you will tally another dozen or more credits to your name, a sum that will soon add up to a university degree.

Running the race this past semester and successfully carrying out your responsibilities in the classroom has broadened your horizons and made you stronger. This strength will carry you a long way in your future beyond the university. You are building a strong foundation that will help you in any field you choose to explore.

Congratulations to those of you who are graduating! For many of you, graduation is the result of great sacrifice, on your part and on your family’s. That makes your degree even more valued. The world needs the skills and gifts you bring to the global marketplace. When you are honored, all of us are honored. Proudly carry the HPU banner of ideals and values in all your endeavors, and the global community will be lifted a little higher.

We wish you God’s blessings in all that the future holds! Have a great summer and rest up for the exciting challenges that lay ahead.
