Trustee heads healthcare system

HPU Trustee Charles A. Sted became president and chief executive officer of Hawai‘i Pacific Health, the state’s largest health care system on July 1.

Sted joined Kapi‘olani Health in 1998 as executive vice president and chief financial officer. He helped negotiate the state’s largest health care merger in 2001, involving Kapi‘olani, Wilcox Health Systems, and Straub Clinic & Hospital in the formation of Hawai‘i Pacific Health. Since the merger, he has served as Hawai‘i Pacific Health’s executive vice president and chief financial officer.

Before joining Kapi‘olani, Sted was CFO for Bank of America, Hawai‘i. His earlier career also includes 18 years with Ernst & Young as a staff member and partner.
