MACom graduate student Jennifer Fairbank was crowned Miss Hawai‘i USA 2005 on May 16 by the 2004 queen, HPU’s Justine Michioka, who also was first runner-up the preceding year.

The Donald Trump-owned Miss Universe organization encompasses Miss USA and Miss Teen USA contests. The organization aims at increasing awareness for ovarian and breast cancer and partners with agencies such as the Ovarian Cancer Research Fund, Gilda’s Club, and the National Alliance of Breast Cancer Organizations.
