The second annual HPU/Aloha United Way Bake Sale more than doubled 2003 proceeds, raising $1,957.75 for the local umbrella charity.

The Bake Sale filled the upstairs lobby of the First Hawaiian Tower with eight tables full of a variety of cookies, brownies, breads, mochi, snacks, candies, and pastries, nearly all donated by HPU staff and faculty.

Eye-catching presentations and colorful wrappings persuaded approximately 252 people to purchase more than 800 baked items!

The fun-filled fundraiser, was well planned by Lianne Maeda and the Career Services Center. The volunteers who made the event run smoothly include: Evelyn Subia, Susan Nishida, Norine Yuen, Leona Hoapili, Linda Mediati, Kala Ernestberg, Arlene Myers, Patty Umetsu, Vicky Del Prado, Larry Kekaulike, Scott Liedtke, Brandon Lee, Anthony Lau, Emeline Lam, Linda Kawamura, and Charlene Vaughn!
