'Don't change horses': Bush reelection essential

Let me preface by saying I’m a sportswriter, not a political corespondent. I watch the news like everyone else and consider myself at least intelligent enough to have informed opinions despite the media “spin,” whether it is left or right. After all, sports writers are journalists too, albeit the “weird uncle’s that everyone tolerates” of the newsroom. And from day one, journalists are taught to be objective, see both sides of the story. However, both sides aren’t being offered in the American media.

   

President lies by omission

George Bush’s testosterone-laced nomination acceptance speech was a public relations masterpiece—of omission. He ”forgot” to tell us his record of the past four years, and for good reason:

   

Women voters beware

With elections coming up Nov. 2, it’s important that voters know President Bush’s agenda if he is reelected for his second term in the Oval Office. It will affect American women by trying to strip away their right to choice, which was previously reported in the New York Times as Bush’s “War Against Women.”

   

Judge correct to uphold right to abortion

U.S. District Judge Richard Casey of Manhattan was right to declare the Partial-Birth Abortion Ban Act—signed last year by President Bush—unconstitutional. Such a ban constitutes a grave threat to women’s health and a violation of their rights and should be struck down.
