Getting connected with others is an important factor in
a well-rounded University experience. As we make friends and
participate in co-curricular activities we broaden our perspectives
and have a more enriching experience.
I hope you all had a chance to learn of these opportunities
at Club Carnaval Day recently. Besides the many clubs, organizations,
and intramural sports available to get you connected it is also
important to stay connected with the religious traditions that
have given you strength. All the local churches, synagogues,
and temples stand ready to welcome you. If you need some assistance
in finding your local house of worship please come by my office
at UB #1506 or call 544-9394.
The “happening place” every Wednesday at noon continues
to be the HPU Chapel service at Warmer Auditorium from 12:00
- 12:30 p.m. Led by students, this non-denominational half-hour
service features music, Scripture and a brief message to add
inspiration to your day. It is a terrific way to keep our lives
strengthened and in balance.
Another non-denominational service happens every Sunday evening
at 7:30 PM on the lanai at the Hawai‘i Loa Campus. All
are welcome! Certainly a good way to start the week.
HPU Food Bank.
Do you know someone in the HPU community temporarily in need?
Food drives are being conducted around the campus for this
worthwhile resource. Spread the word and contact me at the
above number.
