Jet program briefing

U.S. citizens who will have a degree by May, 2005, are invited to learn about English teaching opportunities in Japan at a briefing by officials of the Honolulu Japan Consulate-General at Hawai‘i Pacific University’s President’s Conference Room, second floor, 1166 Fort Street Mall, Oct. 13, 2:30-4 p.m.

The Japan Exchange and Teaching (JET) Program will be introduced and applications distributed. The Consulate invites those interested in serving as Assistant Language Teachers (ALT) to English teachers in the Japan school system from July 2005 to June 2006, to apply for JET positions.
Japanese language ability is not required. JET participants receive an annual salary of approximately $32,000 plus round-trip air fare, health insurance, and other benefits.

For additional information contact Dr. William Zanella, Associate Dean of International Exchange Programs, at 544-1171 (email: wzanella@hpu.edu).
