Book Beat: Search
journs online
While working on your presentations and research,
you have probably used EBSCOhost to look for periodical articles.
EBSCOhost is one of many online databases, available at the
HPU libraries, which allows you to retrieve relevant articles
or abstracts (summaries) of articles. Databases are great for
all kinds of searches, including finding articles by keywords,
titles, authors, and subjects.

Aloha
from the President
Did you know that you are reading one of the
best college newspapers in America? Kalamalama, the Hawai‘i
Pacific University newspaper, under the guidance of faculty
adviser Dr. Larry LeDoux, has been ranked in the top six
collegiate newspapers in the country for the past eight years
by the American Scholastic Press Association. In 1998, it
swept every category to be named the “Most Outstanding
College Newspaper” in America. It has won national,
regional, and local awards every single year of publication.

Chaplain's
Corner

challenges that come our way is an important skill for any
student who hopes to survive the rigors of getting a degree.
Class deadlines, relationships, finances, balancing schedules,
and finding time to relax all pull us in different directions
and take an emotional and physical toll. When all this becomes
overwhelming, where can we find the strength to keep going?
