What Heather Hubbard loves about her job, she said, is being able to see students enjoy themselves. As the director of Student Life at Hawai‘i Pacific University, she helps them do that by organizing clubs, student government, and activities.

Real-world experience, Part II

In the August issue, I told you about my own internship experience. It was required by the College of Communication, which made it available as a 3-credit practicum. Not all HPU programs require practicums for graduation; in fact, some don’t even require internships, and few offer them through the department, school, or college.

The third part of Neil Simon’s autobiographical trilogy of plays about his alter ego, Eugene Jerome. In this play, Eugene and his older brother Stanley are trying to break into the world of professional comedy writing, and at the same time, trying to cope with the impending breakup of their family.
