She is also responsible for creating and implementing
programs that enhance the college experience and makes sure
that all aspects of the Office of Student Life run smoothly,
spirit groups, intramurals, clubs, educational programs, and
socials. She makes sure that student issues are heard—in
student government and the University’s administration.
I enjoy working with students outside of the classroom and try
to be a positive influence to help lay a foundation for a well-rounded
college experience,” Hubbard said.
Hubbard is very happy and excited about her job and sees
it as a huge honor to be the director of Student Life and
the Associated Students of Hawai‘i Pacific University
What gives me the most joy is being able to act as a resource
for a group of students when they plan a large-scaled event from
start to finish and to see their pride when their event is successful.
That to me is just awesome,” Hubbard said.
Hubbard, director since November 2001, is originally from
California where she worked for San Diego State University
in Greek Affairs
(sororities and fraternities). She moved to Hawai‘i in
the summer of 1999 and started as the special activities coordinator
Hubbard said she truly appreciates what students have to
go through to achieve their education, including financial
academic rigor, and social issues. Her hope is to continue
to be a resource and provide fun and educational activities
enhance the college experience and provide oppurtunities
for people to meet new friends.
