HPU finance professor Gunter Meissner met with several of his students last summer, as he traveled the world presenting his latest research on credit derivatives at several universities.

President's Hosts inducted

HPU inducted 52 new President’s Hosts at Waialae County Club Tuesday Oct.19. “The President’s Host program recognizes students who truly represent the University in academics, extra curricular activities, athletics, and throughout the community,” said Heather Hubbard, director of Student Life. “It is an honor for me to get to know these students, and the entire University is proud,” Hubbard added.

HPU student performs at Durga festival

MSIS graduate student, Annapoorani Murali reminds us all of HPU’s abundant diversity. Murali, a member of the University’s International Chorale, performed at this year’s Durga Festival at the Honolulu Academy of Arts Oct. 17.

State Republicans inroduce pro-tourist bill

Following two assaults against gay tourists in Waikiki last month, two local Republicans are calling for expansion of hate crime legislation to include crimes against tourists. Rep. Galen Fox, minority leader from Waikiki, initially introduced similar legislation during the last legislative session (HB 2888) but it failed in committee. Fox said he is renewing his call for the expansion this coming session.
