Chaplain's Corner
with Reverend Dale Burke

We’ve come a long way! The semester is rapidly chugging to a close. There’s good news. We can see the light at the end of the tunnel. At this time in the semester I’m sure many of you feel like you are running on empty, overstretched by finishing up projects, term papers and reports. Don’t panic! This is a normal reaction that strikes everyone.

Keep up the good fight and look your obstacles right in the eye. Our strength comes when we face our challenges, so don’t run from them. Apply the Nike slogan: “Just do it!! Taking one small bite at a time out of your long list of responsibilities pays great dividends.

After finals, the Christmas season is upon us. Many of you will be going home and sharing the holiday with friends and family and taking a break from the rigors of education. Enjoy the change of pace, and join me in praying that the Christmas spirit of peace and love, stemming from God’s gift to the world of the Christ child, will fill all of our hearts.

May we find solutions to the problem of war on our planet so that we can all live in peace and security. May we all be filled with this Christmas spirit! Happy Holidays!
