Softball duo saves athletic program

Two HPU softball players got off of the diamond and onto a different field when they signed up to be the “designated runners” for HPU’s cross country team. Junior DH/outfielder Jennifer Baron and senior pitcher Mallory Anderson agreed to run for HPU after learning the team was short two runners.

   

SAAC organizes athletes

The purpose of HPU’s Student Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) Club is to try and build a sense of community within HPU athletics. It’s an organization that allows athletes to come together in confidentiality to ask questions about anything that may be affecting them, and to hopefully have those questions answered.

   

HPU signs high school standout Courtney Kessell

While the HPU softball team prepares for the upcoming season, they have already signed a valuable addition to the 2005 roster. Courtney Kessell, a senior pitcher at Kailua High School, signed a letter of intent on Nov. 15 to play softball at HPU.

   

Six weeks of surfing: Van's Triple Crown

The legendary Van’s Triple Crown of surfing competition officially kicked off on the North Shore of O‘ahu Nov. 12 and will run through Dec. 20. This super bowl of surfing gives Hawai‘i residents and tourists a chance to witness the world’s top surfers competing in the phenomenal winter swell of the North Shore’s most famous beaches.

   

Ladies top UH-H, lose to BYU-H, UCSD

HPU’s women’s volleyball said aloha to seniors Sandra Brunke and Paula Nacimento who played their last home game against Brigham Young University-Hawai‘i Nov. 9 at the Neal Blaisdell Arena.
