Waimea Bay is known as one of O‘ahu’s most dangerous beaches with surf reaching 30 feet or higher. During the summer months, the Bay is a great place for leisurely swims because the water and waves are much calmer.

Waves can reach 15 to 20 feet at Sunset Beach on the North Shore during the Winter months making it a popular destination for big wave surfers and photographers.
 
Contrary to popular assumptions, Shark’s Cove gets its name from rock formations just off the shore and not because sharks frequent the area.
