Baseball
team off to strong start
The HPU baseball team split a double-header
with the University of Hawai‘i-Hilo and improved its
record to 5-2. The Sea Warriors’ were scheduled to
play seven-inning double-headers on Feb. 12 and 13 at Francis
Wong Stadium in Hilo, but the last two games were cancelled
due to rain.

Brunke selected
for all-star team
HPU senior Sandra Brunke might have played her
last volleyball game in an HPU uniform when her team fell in
the NCAA II Regional, but she hopes to finish her collegiate
career playing with some of the best players in the country.

Million dollar baby KOs competition,
skeptics
Pursuing a dream can be difficult. Million Dollar
Baby is a rags-to-riches story in which Maggie Fitzgerald (Hilary
Swank) struggles to overcome a variety of obstacles in order
to become a professional boxing champion.

CUH sinks Sea Warriors
The HPU basketball team (7-11, 1-7) lost 81-69
to the Chaminade University Silverswords (12-7, 6-3) on Jan.
29th at McCabe Gym. The Sea Warriors are 1-2 against Chaminade
this season. Finis Harwell led with 17 points, and Alex Swerzbin
added 15 in his second start.

PacWest shakeup isolates Hawaii
teams
If adversity draws old friends together, the
four Pacific West Conference teams from Hawai‘i have
a great bonding opportunity. They were left alone when the
two conference teams deserted the PacWest.
