Lam welcomed the students to the Feb. 3 event, which was
held in the TIM hospitality classroom in the TIM program center
on the ninth floor of the 1164 Bishop St. building, by sharing
with them her experiences in the TIM field. She emphasized
the importance of finding the right balance of academics, work
experience, extracurricular activities, and industry connections.
The students also got a chance to meet members of the TIM faculty
and staff, including professors Dr. Jerome Agrusa, Wendy Coats,
and TIM Administrative Assistant, Vivian Kiyonaga.
Travel Industry Management Student Organization (TIMSO) representatives
Mikael Lindvall and Oystein Valen gave the students an overview
of what TIMSO does and how the new students can benefit from
being active members. The TIMSO representatives also hosted the
organization’s traditional icebreaker game as well as informed
the new students about the upcoming events this spring.
