Book Beat: My library account - Online!

by Stacy Judy, Atherton Library

Do you know that it’s possible to renew items online, to see what books you have out or on hold, what your fines are, what address the library has for you—all from the comfort of home? Just use the library’s Public Access Catalog (PAC). Follow some simple steps:

1. Go to the Library’s PAC by logging into HPU Pipeline’s Libraries Tab and click on Find Books and Journals. (Or go to http://lib.hpu.edu/pac.opac).

2. Click on My Library Account at the bottom of the PAC home page.

3. Enter your UniCard number (omit the @) and the PIN you set with the library’s circulation desk.

Congratulations! You should see your library information. Choose any of the options on the page.
To renew items, click the check box before the title, and then click on Renew Checked Items. Be sure to look at the new due date to ensure renewal occurred.

Overdue books cannot be renewed. There may be other circumstances that will prevent you from renewing. Call the library’s circulation desk (544-0210) for help.

If you would like to search and place holds without having to login every time, go to the Login button at the top of the page and input the information requested. You will now be logged into the PAC until you choose to logout.

If you need any help with PAC features that are new and unfamiliar to you, ask any reference librarian at Atherton or Meader Library—they love to help.
