HPU celebrates St. Patrick's Day

The United Samoan Organization may have won best booth during HPU’s St. Paddy’s Day at Fort Street Mall March 17, but it was not the only club in the Irish spirit.

“They did an incredible job,” said Heather Hubbard, Student Life associate director. “I want to thank all the clubs.”

Clubs had to create a booth that highlights St. Patrick’s Day but also has games that represent each club.

The USO won the prize with a booth that included Samoan games and hula hoop for prizes. PRSSA took second with a football throwing game. Capoiera took third.

Hubbard said she is glad the event was held on a Thursday for the students that don’t come down on Friday.”

She added that the event is a good community builder: “Fun, games, colorful—it just adds to the richness of our community.”
