Aloha from President Wright
with Chatt G. Wright

I am pleased to announce that HPU’s School of Nursing successfully completed its reaccreditation site visit Feb. 22-24. The visit was conducted by three National League for Nursing Accreditation Commission (NLNAC) site evaluators. Their recommendation is that both the Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) and the Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) programs be fully accredited for the maximum period of eight years.

The three NLNAC site visitors included: Dr. Evelyn Hayes, chair of the team and a professor at the University of Delaware; Dr. Luz Porter, director of the Ph.D. in Nursing program at Florida International University; and Dr. Denise Robinson, coordinator of the Department of Nursing at Northern Kentucky University.

To complete the process, the NLNAC Evaluation Review Panel will meet to examine the site visitors’ recommendation and report June 7-9 in Dallas, Texas. The Panel’s recommendation will then be sent to the NLNAC Commission for a ruling issued in early July.

I would like to thank the School of Nursing deans, faculty, staff, students, alumni, community, nursing advisory council members and others within the University community for their good work and thorough preparation for the nursing accreditation review and site visit.
