Chaplain's Corner
with Reverend Dale Burke

It is going to be a great year! Adjusting to new surroundings, new friends, and a new schedule can be both exhilarating and stressful. Expect the full gamut of emotions as you settle into your studies.
The University has many resources and offers an abundance of activities to make your transition into academic life as smooth as possible. Soon numerous clubs and organizations will soon invite you to participate in their programs and activities. Clubs are a great way to make new friends to broaden your University experience.

Don’t forget that if you ever need a listening ear, I am always willing and usually availablein suite 1506 in the UB building, 1164 Bishop St. You’re always welcome, but to be sure I’m there and not teaching, call 544-9394!

In addition to the Chaplain’s Office, there are some very talented people in the Advising Office who are always available and easy to contact. Same building, ground floor entrance across from the Cathedral. Call 544-1198.

Two nondenominational informal worship services are available every week on campus, Wednesdays (beginning Sept. 7), noon to 12:30 p.m. at Warmer Auditorium on the top floor of the library building (LB, 1060 Bishop St.) and Sunday evenings (beginning Sept. 11) at 7:30 p.m. on the Hawai‘i Loa campus Academic Center lanai.All are welcome, and I look forward to meeting as many of you as possible!
