.About Us

by Susie Contreras, Lifestyles editor

According to President Chatt G. Wright, the name change signifies the direction HPU is taking to “align its programs and services with those known to be best practices across the country.”

Student Affairs, under any name, supervises various areas of student life on campus, including student discipline, first-year experiences, student retention, student organizations, and more. Student Affairs will continue to provide students with learning services such as full-time advisors, and will continue to supervise the admissions and registration departments. According to Wright, Student Affairs staff members have qualified educational backgrounds and are also experts in issues concerning students and their learning environments.
