Chaplain's Corner
with Reverend Dale Burke

Even in the midst of today’s world situation, with its storms, conflicts, and earthquakes, there is still much to be thankful for. Blessings are all around for those who have eyes to see. Ralph Waldo Emerson once said that if the stars came out only one night a year, everyone would be up all night watching them. We have a way of taking for granted so many things and experiences in our lives that we miss much of the flavor of life and get stuck worrying about the little things rather than being mindful of all that the Lord has given us.

The encouraging word for today is to live with an attitude of gratitude. When we live out of a spirit of thanksgiving for all the blessings that are ours, both temporal and eternal, it is reflected in how we treat others and how we deal with our responsibilities. Living out of a spirit of thanksgiving has a way of dispelling sadness and bringing a renewed joy to the day.

Give it a try. You might be surprised! Have a blessed Thanksgiving season!
